What a big day!!!

Today was Thursday which means that it is the fast, so we skipped out on breaky. And we all had a bit of a prayer instead and I asked God for a revelation of a person that I might encounter at some point that God wants me to talk to and what he wants me to say to them. I saw a person wearing a red sweater or jacket and pants that are black and white and kind of hippie-ish (pants that I would wear). And they were spinning, with their arms out. But sadly I never saw this person today...

Today was our outreach for Circuit Riders. We went out in Taurunga and street evangelized. I was so pumped for it and so excited because I thought that it would be so easy. Well, it was not. My crew went to Mount Manganui on the little shopping street and on the beach. Schnegg was my partner (yes, you can all say awwwwwww). But we just kept getting rejected, as soon as we said 'Jesus' they would turn and walk away. Some people were polite and politely turned us down haha. But there were 3 guys from Nepal who were Hindu. And they actually listened to what we said about Jesus and said that they would read a bible that they have back at their residence. So who knows what God will do for them in their future!

But the coolest part was a bit later when we were super discouraged. We were walking and saw this 15 year old boy on a sweet retro skate-board, that is sort of like a long board, but tiny. I had been scoping these out in the windows of the shops throughout the day. So Schnegg called the guy over, and we asked him about his board and he let me take it for a spin. And then we decided to share Jesus with him. His name was Domonic and he said that he wasn't a Christian and didn't really know much about Jesus, but his friend Nick (who was with him) was. So we started to tell him about Jesus and how great he is and Rich and Matt (staff Matt) were walking by and Schnegg got Rich to come over and share his testimony which is really intense. So he did, and then we asked Domonic if he wanted to accept Jesus into his life and start a relationship with him and he said "Sure", so Schnegg led him in a salvation prayer and he was SAVED! Woohoo, my first salvation. And Nick was a really strong Christian and goes to church every weekend, so we asked Nick if he would take Dom to church with him and sort of mentor him in his faith and he was stoked to do that. It was awesome. And then I bought a skateboard like Domonic's and Schnegg bought some expensive shorts.

Then we went for din din, and Janessa and Sean (who are married) were going to this nice restaurant which had glutie options, so I really wanted to go there, and Schnegg tagged along. So we basically had a double date. Bahhaa!

Then we went down to the beach and picked up some sea shells. I now have a large collection of seashell rings. 2 for every finger I think. They are so cool. I feel like such a mermaid hipster when I wear them. And while we were picking shells, these teeny-boppers on the beach asked if we wanted to play rugby with them. We said "Of course! (but we don't really understand the rules)" and they said that's OK! They were so cool. And I got a try (a touch-down ish thing)!!! I was so excited. I never get points in most sports :) And then we found out that they are Christians, so a bunch of us YWAMers got them in a circle with us and we had a prayer session on the beach. It was so awesome. Man, God is good. And someone drew a beach house in the sand, so after the prayer Brent and I sat back and relaxed by the TV. I envisioned us watching Sponge Bob.

Then we had a meeting with everyone in Circuit Riders in a Church, and we had a worship time. And at the end they invited anyone who wanted the gift of speaking in tongues to come up. And I have tried to receive the gift of tongues before during some of our other class sessions a few weeks ago, and nothing happened. And nothing happened again. It is really discouraging and frustrating when nothing happens for you, and the people next to you and around you start speaking in tongues. So I was a bit frustrated, and Sarah encouraged me to just keep trying and keep being obedient, and it will come in time.

And then Matt (Krahn) (By the way, there are 3 (sort of) Matt's on our DTS... there is staff Matt, Matt Krahn and Matthieu (Schnegg)) told me about how he was frustrated because he wasn't getting the gift of tongues for a long time either, and then one time he was deep in prayer and it just came. So he said to just not give up! And gave me a big hug. I really appreciate Matt. He gives me little encouragements at just the right time. The other night at the base meeting when everyone was giving encouragements to each other and I hadn't really gotten many, Matt came over and said that he liked shopping (unsuccessfully) for a cross necklace with me and that he likes playing guitar with me. And it warmed my heart. Awe Matt. So awesome.

I also got a letter from my mommy today! Yay! I will try to get on top of things and write her a letter back, and write everyone a post card! I am so bad at doing stuff like that! haha! But I did buy some pretty awesome postcards today, so I will have to do it now!!!

Also, I would love to receive mail if anyone ever felt so inclined... even if I don't know you and you just read my blog for fun it would be awesome! Because Henk receives like 5 letters per day and I want to show him up! Hahah just kidding! But seriously, send me letters!
